The Ragucci Family has it's roots in the Italian mountain town of Monte S'Angelo in the Gargano region of Italy (at the spur on the boot of Italy).  During the start of the 20th century, members of the Ricucci family came to the United States looking for work.  Eventually several members of that family settled in New Jersey while other members returned to Italy never to return.

Once in New Jersey, the family found work on the railroads and grew steadily.  There were 2 primary family members that settled in New Jersey:

• Antonio Ricucci - settled in Elizabeth ,New Jersey
• Giuseppe Ricucci - settled in Carteret / Port Reading, New Jersey
